Blockchain shows tremendous potential for radically changing the way the world works. Yet for many companies, the way forward in leveraging the technology isn’t entirely clear. To help C-suite executives better understand how blockchain can transform their enterprises, I helped create Value Visionaries for IBM Blockchain, featuring business and technical leaders sharing their secrets to success. These are human accounts of leadership in cutting-edge technology – and blueprints for other executives to follow.
Grief can be life’s most isolating experience. But in Masterpiece of Love for Prudential, my team and I show that none of us is truly alone. As the series creator and host, I asked people to share their stories about the life and death of a loved one, while commissioning local artists to interpret those stories. The result was a five-part online documentary series, gallery event and social media campaign that continues to touch countless lives today.
Trade by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) powers the global economy. Yet 60% of their trade finance requests are denied by banks, largely because of risks and costs associated with outdated legacy systems. Enter IBM Blockchain for Trade Finance — and this story of a blockchain network that’s bringing new levels of trust, transparency and efficiency to the Nordic’s biggest bank and its clients
New Jersey’s largest city is also its most compelling story. In #20StoriesofStrength, I was the writer and editor-in-chief of a social media series that commemorated the opening of Prudential’s new downtown tower, highlighting twenty ways in which Newark’s resurgence continues each day.
Alexander Graham Bell did it. So did Neil Armstrong. And now, three pioneers from Connecticut are pushing the world into a bold new era. They’ve built and deployed the first blockchain solution with the IBM Blockchain Platform that can run in any computing environment. In the blockchain world, this is a very big deal. Their achievement may never been studied in school or seen in museums, but they’re captured here celebrating this watershed moment.
Blockchain isn’t always easy to understand. So in Blockparty for IBM Blockchain, I co-curated my second corporate art show, this one featuring contemporary artists showing what blockchain benefits look like. They captured the technology’s impact on consumer confidence, transparency, food safety, sustainability and efficiency. My team and I then created a webinar series pairing these video vignettes with longer client conversations, leading to significant pipeline opportunity for the business unit.
Before putting fingers on the keyboard in blockchain, you have to put your finger on the business problem to be solved. So when enterprises want to bring their blockchain ideas to life, they turn to the IBM Garage. Videos, events and web pages like these that I have created have been instrumental in demonstrating the value of Design Thinking at the beginning of every blockchain journey.
96% of leaders say the pandemic will accelerate their need for digital reinvention by as much as five years. Pulling back the covers on digital transformation that works, we trace the journey of a fictitious leadership team as they learn how to leverage IBM’s business and technology expertise to bring their business to the cloud, redesign meaningful digital customer experiences, breathe new life into legacy processes and even have a laugh or two.
Prudential
Since its beginnings in 1875, Prudential has been one of the most trusted brands in the world. I have been privileged to play a small part in advancing the legacy of this legendary institution across a variety of assignments.
When the conversation turns to blockchain for business, we set the stage – literally. For think 2019 and other IBM trade events, we’ve created booth experiences, anthem videos, keynote addresses, after hours events, branded merchandise and more.
Public workers like teachers, police, fire fighters and others are counting on a reliable pension to help them afford retirement. But most of those public workers don’t understand the complexities of the pension plans they’re counting on — or how badly those plans are struggling. In this education program recently launched for Equable.org, I help simplify the challenges facing the Arizona State Retirement System and rally public workers to start discussing what can be done to reverse the plan’s $14 billion deficit.
Our relationship with money is one of our most important – and also one of the most difficult to understand. But I’ve brought simplicity to complex financial subjects like planning for retirement, investing for long-term goals, paying for college, protecting wealth and more through videos and digital experiences like these.
As creative content director for IBM Blockchain, I help the business world understand what blockchain is — and isn’t. You’ve likely heard about blockchain in stories about bitcoin. But through the 20-page site I manage, videos, blogs, social and other content, I’m describing IBM Blockchain’s most compelling use cases in business today: how it’s making the food supply safer, trade routes faster, money easier to send, and much more.
Experience with highly-regulated financial services accounts and complex technology accounts makes for an easier transition to healthcare and pharma. I’ve done project work for Medco (now Express Scripts) and worked on St. George’s University, a leading off-shore medical and veterinary school. Like financial services and technology accounts, it’s exciting and rewarding to work on challenging subject matter that has the potential to impact lives in such profound ways.
